About Me

I am 29 years old and live in Oviedo, Florida. Oviedo is located in Seminole County, just outside of Orlando and close to the University of Central Florida. I work full time at UCF in their School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science as a Senior Systems Programmer. At UCF, my responsibilities include Web site design and maintenance, computer hardware/software installation and maintenance, server setup, administration, and maintenance, and hiring and training teaching assistants for large service courses.

When I began working at UCF, part of my responsibilities included creating notes and lesson plans for our instructors and teaching assistants to use in class. Shortly thereafter, Course Technology, a publisher of technology-related textbooks, started asking me to create instructor supplemental materials, mostly for their Shelly Cashman Series. After years of hard, after-hours work creating these supplements, I started authoring textbooks. While it is a lot of hard work and I sacrifice many precious hours of sleep, it is very rewarding.

I got married in November of 2003 to my wife, Traci. When I first met Traci, she was working as a server at a local restaurant; so, I figured I should find something to keep me busy at night while she works most of her shifts. As a result, and thanks to my friend Ray Enger's recommendation, I started teaching part-time at Valencia Community College in Orlando, and Seminole Community College in Lake Mary. Teaching is an incredibly rewarding experience for me, and I must say I am hooked. I mostly teach Web/Internet related courses, as well as programming courses.

I hope you enjoy my site.
